Julia Preston has a love of variety that has led her through an assortment of careers in sales, management, administration, and human resources. During her entrepreneurial phase, she designed and presented workshops on creating excellence, personal mastery, and conflict resolution for private industry and nonprofit organizations. She co-created an award-winning facilitative-mediation technique, and acted as a mediator in small claims court in Sacramento, CA. The quest for order in her own life led her to start Labor of Love, a business to help others in their struggle to organize and declutter their lives and personal affairs.
Throughout her years in people-oriented career incarnations, she has gathered an abundance of life experience that begs to be expressed through her true passion of writing. She is grateful that through the written word, she can follow her heart and speak to the hearts of others who, like herself, seek entry into the mystery, meaning, and purpose in life. She considers her life as a classroom, views herself as a work in progress, and enjoys teaching what she needs to learn.
She lives with her head in the clouds, but the rest of her can usually be found in Maryland.
Her first book, Amusings: Looking at Life through a Stained Glass Window, was written for her mother and dedicated to her in honor of her 100th birthday.
